
Bighorns Fall at Last Second to Santa Cruz Warriors

RENO, NV - Tonight, the Reno Bighorns kept their fans on the tips of their toes as they kept the score neck-and-neck against the Santa Cruz Warriors up to the last half second of play. The Warriors defeated the Bighorns at the last second 113-111.
Tajuan Porter led the Bighorns with 24 points and three assists. Jordan Hamilton followed Porter closely with 20 points, seven rebounds, and four assists. Sim Bhullar finished the game with six blocked shots.
With 39 points and 11 rebounds, James Michael McAdo led the Warriors. Mychel Thompson netted 13 points and added four assists.
Porter led the Bighorns in the first quarter going 5-5 from the field and 2-2 from behind the arc. Porter totaled 12 points in the quarter. Johnson totaled five points and four rebounds. The Bighorns finished the quarter 31-28 over the Warriors.
During the second, David Wear netted six points while Hamilton notched six points. The Bighorns shot 50.0% from the field compared to the Warriors 44.4%.
The Bighorns went into the locker room at the half trailing the Warriors 60-57. Bhullar ended the first half with four blocked shots while Porter went 6-8 from the field and 3-4 from behind the arc.
In the third, Hamilton totaled six points and two rebounds. Porter netted five in the quarter while Austin Witter totaled four rebounds.
Hamilton led the Bighorns in the final quarter with nine points and two assists. Ra'Shad James had eight points in the quarter and added two assists.
Hamilton finished the second half going 6-10 from the field while Cameron Ayers went 3-4 from the field.
With the game tied at 111-111, Santa Cruz's Elliot Williams hit a jumper to pull the Warriors ahead 113-111 with 1.8 seconds remaining. Bighorns guard David Stockton was fouled on the next possession, but was unable to convert his free throws.
The two teams alternated the lead 18 times, and tied a total of 15 times.
The Bighorns return home tomorrow night to once again take-on the Warriors at 7 p.m. at the Reno Events Center for Military Appreciation Night.
