Jackals Sign Defenseman Stoflet

The Elmira Jackals announced on Monday that they have signed defenseman Evan Stoflet to a standard player contract.

Stoflet began the 2011-2012 season overseas, scoring two goals and adding two assists for four points in 14 games with Copenhagen Hockey in Denmark (AL-Bank Ligaen).

The 6'1", 185-pound native of Madison, Wis. skated in 2010-2011 with the Bakersfield Condors, recording five goals along with a club defensemen-best 17 assists for 22 points. He split 2009-2010 with the Condors and the Utah Grizzlies, compiling 10 assists over 62 games. Stoflet began his ECHL career in 2008-2009 with the Grizzlies, notching two goals with 11 assists for 13 points in 53 contests.

In 2007-2008, Stoflet commenced his professional career with the CHL's Corpus Christi IceRayz, combining two goals and six assists for eight points in 42 games.

Stoflet skated as an amateur at the University of Vermont (NCAA, D-I), contributing six goals and eight assists for 14 points in 99 games from 2003-2007.
