Polacek Recalled to Peoria

Rookie forward Chase Polacek (poh-LAH-check) has been recalled to the Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League, Aces Head Coach Rob Murray announced on Monday. Polacek was assigned to the Aces last Wednesday and appeared in two games for Alaska over the weekend. The Aces begin a six-game home stand on Wednesday night when they host the Bakersfield Condors for the first of three games. Polacek, 22, made an immediate impact with the Aces, scoring in each of his two games with Alaska. He scored his first pro goal 2:09 into his team debut with Alaska, and scored the Aces lone goal on Saturday night in a 2-1 loss. He tallied two of the team's three goals on the weekend. Prior to joining the Aces, the 5'8", 190 lbs. Edina, MN native appeared in three regular season games for Peoria, and two playoff games from last season. He also was a standout four-year collegiate player at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

In additional Aces news from over the weekend, the ECHL suspended forward Ethan Cox two games for a hit on Friday night against the Grizzlies. Cox sat out Saturday's weekend finale, and will miss Wednesday's series-opener with Bakersfield. He will be eligible to return on Friday night when the Aces host the Condors.
