Elmira, N.Y. - The Elmira Jackals snapped a four-game losing skid with a 4-2 victory over the Kalamazoo Wings on Saturday night at First Arena. Evan Barlow had two goals while Timo Pielmeier made 34 saves for the Jackals.

After a scoreless first period, the Jackals struck twice on the power play to open a 2-0 lead. Mike Ratchuk's shot banked off the cross bar to Barlow, who fed the puck in just 10 seconds into Elmira's opening power play to put the Jackals on the board at 2:16. Mike Radja took a rebound off a Joey Ryan shot at 10:19 and shot it past K-Wings netminder Riley Gill to extend the lead to two goals.

Late in the second period, Taylor Ellington took advantage of a Jackals turnover and wristed the puck over Timo Pielmeier's glove to put the K-Wings on the board, 2-1, at 15:52.

After being pressured by the K-Wings throughout the beginning of the third period, Elmira made its way into the Kalamazoo end for a scoring opportunity. Dustin Gazley spun around in the left circle and fed Barlow, who snapped in a one-timer from the right side to put the Jackals up 3-1 at 10:24.

With the Jackals leading by two goals late, Dean Strong put in a rebound on the doorstep to bring the K-Wings to within a goal, 3-2 at 19:49.

Moments later, Jean Bourbeau sealed the game with an empty netter to give the Jackals their fourth win of the season, closing it out 4-2.

Pielmeier was named the game's first star, improving to 3-2 on the season. Gill dropped to 5-2-0-0, making 20 saves.

The Jackals continue their three-game homestand on Wednesday when they host the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:05 p.m. To reserve your seats call (607) 734-PUCK (7825), visit the First Arena Box Office, or log onto JackalsHockey.com.
