Hoffman Estates, IL - The Chicago Express, proud member of the ECHL and proud affiliate of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets, won in a shootout over the Cincinnati Cyclones for the second straight night, this time at the U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati on Saturday night.

A back-and-forth first period needed over fifteen minutes of play before the scoreless tie was snapped. Immediately following a Chicago power play, D Dan Henningson held a puck in at the right point, and fired a slap shot that trickled through G Tyler Plante and just over the goal line. The Express carried the 1-0 lead into the first intermission.

It didn't take long for the Cyclones to even the scoring in the second period. At 3:59 of the middle frame, RW Mathieu Aubin fired a wrister that beat G Rob Nolan, tying the game at 1-1. Shortly after a slew of penalties resulting from a line brawl in front of the Cincinnati net, C Aaron Marvin blocked a shot and raced up the left wing, finishing the scoring chance by slipping a shot through the five-hole of Plante and regaining the lead for Chicago.

The score remained 2-1 with the Express in the lead until D Maury Edwards blasted a shot from the point on the power play to knot the score at 2-2 with just 4:32 left to play. It remained even through overtime, and for the second straight night a shootout was required between the two squads. F Yannick Tifu scored the game-deciding goal in the fourth round to secure the victory for Chicago. Nolan stopped 21 shots in the win for the Express.
