MAGNIFYING THE MATCHUP
Tonight's matchup marks the third consecutive game played between the Jackals and Royals. Each team won on the road this past weekend in a home-and-home set. The Jackals hosted the Royals on Friday for their third annual Pink in the Rink game presented by ArnotHealth but fell to their rivals 5-1. Jacob MacDonald scored the lone Jackals goal, which was his first of the season. Elmira exacted revenge the next night by spoiling the Royals' home opener with a 7-2 dismantling in front of a sold-out crowd at Santander Arena. Seven different Jackals recorded multi-point efforts as Cason Hohmann led the offense with a four-point night. Sam Marotta turned aside 21 shots to earn his second win in as many tries this season. Elmira holds a 51-51-12 all-time record against the Royals and the second annual DeMet's Candy Challenge Cup series is tied at one game apiece.
