New Jersey Jackals News Release
Little Falls, NJ- Tonight's New Jersey Jackals Professional Baseball game versus the Elmira Pioneers was rained out in Elmira, NY
Rain was in the forecast for the entire evening. Threatening clouds rolled into the Dunn Field area, twenty minutes before the scheduled 7:05p.m. start time. The tarp was ready to be put on the field at a moments notice. The start time was then pushed back till 7:35 p.m. At about 7:20p.m., torrential downpours soaked Dunn Field, but the grounds crew of the Pioneers were successful in putting the tarp on the field before the hardest rain hit the area. Dangerous lightening, along with the rain, continued until 8:30 p.m. when umpires finally called the game due to unplayable conditions.
The game will be made up as part of a double header at Yogi Berra Stadium, on Monday, June 12, 2004. The first game will begin at 5:05 p.m., with the second game beginning 30 minutes after the completion of the first contest. Both games are scheduled for seven innings.
The New Jersey Jackals return home on Thursday, June 8, 2004 as the Northeast League Aces come to town for a four game set. It's a Thursty Thursday at the ballpark. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05p.m at Yogi Berra Stadium. For tickets, please call the Jackals Ticket Office at (973) 746-7434. For other information on the Jackals, visit www.jackals.com.
