Lynn, MAâ The North Shore Spirit completed the three-game series sweep of Les Capitales de Quebec Wednesday night with a 5-4 win at the New Fraser Field.
Bryan Morse (5-1) went eight innings, allowing 3 earned runs on eight hits. Morse struck out six and walked three. Ryan Bicondoa pitched a scoreless ninth for his league-leading eleventh save.
Trailing 2-0, North Shore would strike for four runs in the bottom of the fourth. Frank Charles ledoff with a walk and advanced to second on a basehit by Joe Hastings. After Yuri Sanchez walked to load the bases, Marcos Agramonte tied the game at two with a double off the wall in left. Mike Granger would then put the Spirit on top with double of his own that scored Sanchez and Agramonte.
The score was tied heading to the home half of the eighth. With two outs, Agramonte's infield single scored pinch runner Lucas Taylor with the game-winning run. The win gives North Shore a three game lead in the North Division.
The Spirit return home on Friday, July 16 to face the Aces for a three game series. July 26 is Turn Back the Clock Night at Fraser Field. The Spirit will celebrate the history of baseball on the North Shore throughout the last century. Each inning the Spirit will recognize a different decade of baseball from the Lynn Frasers of the early 1900's to today's Spirit.
