Jackals Open Week Against Defending Kelly Cup Champions

Elmira Jackals News Release
The Elmira Jackals will look to rebound after a disappointing weekend in terms of results, but not in terms of attendance, when they host the defending Kelly Cup Champion South Carolina Stingrays at First Arena on Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m.
While the Jackals fell in overtime in their last home game, it was a record-setting night, as Jackals fans turned out better than ever before, with 4,325 of the Jackals faithful setting a new First Arena mark for a hockey game since the building opened ten years ago. The Jackals had to open over 300 extra standing room seats for the game, with Jackals suite holders allowing fans into their suites to view the Devils 4-3 overtime win.
After the loss, the Jackals played two games at Trenton, both ending up in one-goal losses for the Jackals.
The Jackals enter the week leading the American East Division with 15 points, three ahead of both Reading and Trenton and 11 points in front of Johnstown.
NOTES - The Elmira Jackals lead the ECHL with four sell outs in 2009-2010. Last season, the Jackals tied for the ECHL lead with five sell outs.

- Brennan Turner is tied for the league lead among all players in the ECHL with a +9 and is tied for first among defensemen. Travis Gawryetz is second on the team and tied for fifth in the ECHL with a +8.
