Walleye Notes

- Another Overtime Win! Evan Rankin scored the third overtime winning goal of the season Wednesday morning against Kalamazoo. JC Sawyer scored the other two overtime game winners (11/18/09 vs. Florida, 11/25/09 vs. Trenton).

- Shootout at the Lucas County Corral? Eleven goals were scored between Toledo and Cincinnati Saturday night. All of the Walleye's goals were netted by different skaters (Rankin, Hodgeman, Hedden, Hobson, Stokes, and Sawyer).

- Rankin Goes for Four! With his goal Saturday night vs. Cincinnati, Evan Rankin became the first Walleye player to collect a goal in four consecutive games. On the season, Evan has lit the lamp five times.

- Let's Do Something None Have Done Yet! The power play struck three times in the game on Saturday, ending Cincinnati's run of 34 straight times killing off power play chances against.

- Triple Time! Defenseman JC Sawyer and Forward Maxime Tanguay each collected three assist games this past week. Sawyer collected his in Wednesday's game against Kalamazoo and Tanguay put his on Saturday's score sheet. They are the first Walleye players to collect 3 assists in a game this year.

- Soaring to the Top! Defenseman JC Sawyer is currently enjoying a nine game point streak. During that span, Sawyer has scored five goals and collected ten assists. Sawyer leads the ECHL in points for defensemen, and is the team leader in points.

- Home Cooking! Toledo has won three consecutive home contests and is 5-2-0-0 inside the Lucas County Arena this year.

- Fan-tastic! For the season, 45.263 fans have passed through the turnstiles at the new Lucas County Arena for an average of 6,466. The Walleye currently are second to Stockton in the ECHL in average attendance.

On the Hook

- Gametime! Toledo will hit the road on Wednesday with the first extended road trip of the year in Florida...Toledo is 2-1-0-0 against the Everblades this season...That game is the first of a three game set against the Everblades as the two teams will play both Friday and Saturday nights...Toledo did open the regular season with three consecutive games against Florida in the Lucas County Arena.

Walleye Player of the Week:

JC Sawyer (2 goals - 5 assists = 7 points)

Sawyer scored the game-winning goal Saturday night against Cincinnati. It was his third game-winner of the year.

Walleye Goaltender of the Week:

Alec Richards (2-0-0, 4.41 gaa, .850 save %)

Alec collected wins 3 and 4 over the week, and he is 4-1-0-1 for the season.
