IN JUST A FEW HOURS...
The Elmira Jackals will try to increase their lead in the American East Division to 10 points as they play host to the Reading Royals at 7:35 p.m. at First Arena.
The Jackals won each of their last four games against the Royals, who currently are second in the division and occupy the eighth and final playoff spot in the American Conference as of today.
Both teams are coming off of home shootout losses to the Charlotte Checkers, with Elmira's coming on Wednesday by a score of 2-1 and Reading's on Thursday, 4-3.
Derick Martin will make his debut for the Jackals tonight after being acquired from Alaska last week. He will wear No. 18.

SECOND-HALF SUCCESS
The Jackals are 18-6-2-0 in the second half of 2009-2010. Last season, the Jackals were 22-11-1-2 in the second half of the season on their way to a playoff appearance.
TOPS IN PK
The Jackals have the league's best penalty kill at 86.9% and have topped the league in that category since play ended on Nov. 28. Their penalty kill was 7/7 on Wednesday against Charlotte.
