
Scott Fletcher and Rob Kwiet Assigned to Reading

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that defensemen Scott Fletcher and Rob Kwiet ["KWIT"] have been assigned from the Providence Bruins of the AHL to the Royals. In separate transactions, the Royals also (i) released defenseman Ryan Hand from his Standard Player's Contract; and (ii) released forward Matt Ward from his Amateur Tryout agreement.
This marks the fourth assignment this season to Reading for Fletcher, a first year pro from Haslett, Michigan, In twenty-four games with the Royals, Fletcher has picked up four points (2g-2a) and sixty-seven penalty minutes. In fourteen games with Providence, Fletcher has registered 32 penalty minutes. For Kwiet, a first year pro from Toronto, Ontario, this is his third assignment to Reading. In eleven games with Reading, Kwiet has picked up three assists and eleven penalty minutes. He has scored one goal and picked up twenty-four penalty minutes in forty games with Providence this year. Hand, a second year from Ottawa, Ontario, played twenty-six games for Reading and registered three points (1g-2a) and eighty penalty minutes. Ward, who signed an ATO with Reading after completing his senior season at Neumann University, played eight games with the Royals and picked up six points (2g-4a) and four penalty minutes.
The Royals travel to the First Arena in Elmira, New York tonight (Friday, March 19, 2010 @ 7:35 pm) to take on the Elmira Jackals for the thirteenth time this year. The Royals game night broadcast on the Royals Radio Network presented by Transmissions by Arbogast will begin at 7:05 pm.
