Countdown To Face-Off

For the third of four straight games, the Kalamazoo Wings host the Wheeling Nailers. On the season, Kalamazoo is 3-3-0-0 versus Wheeling. The teams will meet twice more on the season, with the remaining encounters occurring at the WesBanko Arena.

Losing for the first time in regulation at home in 2010 with a 7-3 loss to Wheeling, Kalamazoo returns to Wings Stadium in second place in the North Division and three points behind Cincinnati for first. The K-Wings are also in fifth place in the American Conference, one point behind the Charlotte Checkers.

Winners of two straight on the road, Wheeling remains in fourth place in the North Division. More important for the Nailers with 66 points, Wheeling is ninth place in the American Conference, one point behind the Reading Royals for eighth and two behind the Toledo Walleye, who are in seventh place.

K-Wings Add Two

Earlier today, the K-Wings have signed forwards Kyle Kraemer and Brian McMillin. Kraemer played collegiate hockey at Northeastern University, while McMillian played at Colorado College.

Duchesne's a Flyer

On Wednesday, goaltender Jeremy Duchesne was called-up to the Philadelphia Flyers. Duchense, who back-up for the Flyers last night, is the first member of the ECHL K-Wings to be called-up to the NHL.

Right at Home

Forward Dean Strong has definitely felt at home at Wings Stadium. Strong, who is on a six-game overall point streak, has earned points in all 11 games (6 goals, 9 assists) he has played on Vanrick Drive.

Sharing the Wealth

Spreading the scoring around, five members of the K-Wings enter the week on impressive multi-game point streaks. Patrick Asselin, Rick Cleaver, Andrew Fournier and Sam Ftorek are on five-game point streaks, while Dean Strong has earned points in six straight games.
