
Everblades Add Three Players, One Recalled

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president and general manager Craig Brush in coordination with head coach Malcolm Cameron have announced that forward Brady Calla has been assigned by Rochester (AHL) and defenseman Mitch McColm has signed an amateur tryout agreement. The Everblades also announced that defenseman AJ Thelen has been activated off the injured list and defenseman Elgin Reid has been recalled by Albany (AHL).
Calla, 22, returns to Florida after appearing in one game with Rochester during his last promotion. The Kelowna, British Columbia native has appeared in a total of 33 contests with the Amerks and scored a goal and six points with 14 penalty minutes. Calla has skated in 11 ECHL contests with the 'Blades and added a goal and an assist with 11 penalty minutes.
McColm, 20, has spent the last four seasons in the Western Hockey League. The Calgary, Alberta native has skated in 72 games for Chilliwack and Regina this season and scored three goals and 11 assists with 136 minutes in penalties. He has recorded over 100 minutes in penalties over the past three seasons. McColm will wear sweater #4 with the Everblades.
Thelen, 24, has been out of the lineup since February 19 versus Kalamazoo. He was injured on February 13 in South Carolina near the conclusion of the game. The third-year professional was named to the ECHL's American Conference All Star squad and recorded the hardest shot during the skills competition. Thelen has 22 points in 43 games (8-14=22) with 52 penalty minutes this season.
Reid, 23, earns his second promotion to the American Hockey League this season. He has skated in two games for Albany and registered one assist. In 43 appearances with the Everblades the Milton, Ontario native has five goals and 21 points with 59 penalty minutes.
The Everblades and Stingrays meet on tonight and Saturday, March 20 for the final two meetings in the 13-game regular season series. Tonight is Autism Awareness Night and former ECHL and NHLer goaltender Olaf Kolzig will be inducted into the ECHL Hall of Fame. The Everblades will be making a donation to Autism Speaks, a local chapter dedicated to help fighting autism in our community. Saturday is Guns and Hoses Night. At 4:30 p.m. the police department will battle the fire department on the ice with the Everblades and Stingrays game to follow at 7:30 p.m.
