IN JUST A FEW HOURS...
The Elmira Jackals look to rebound after Friday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Reading Royals when they return home to host the South Carolina Stingrays at 7:35 p.m at First Arena. While Elmira's winning streak came to an end at nine games in the loss, the Jackals extended their point-earning streak to 10 contests. With a point tonight against South Carolina, Elmira would tie its longest point-earning streak in ECHL play of 11 games, accomplished from the end of the 2008-2009 season (three games) through the start of the 2009-2010 campaign (eight games). Since falling to the Jackals on Jan. 6, the Stingrays have reeled off four-straight wins, prevailing most recently in Trenton last night, 4-1.
HOME, SATURDAY STREAKS ON THE LINE
The Jackals will put their eight-game home winning streak and nine-game Saturday winning streak on the line tonight. Elmira has not lost a home game since Nov. 25, with a 14-5-0-0 record at First Arena this season. The Jackals' current home-ice winning streak is their longest since joining the ECHL. Elmira is 10-2-0-0 on Saturdays this season and has not lost on a Saturday since Oct. 29 to South Carolina.
BOURBEAU HEATS UP
Jean Bourbeau had a goal and an assist last night in Reading, as the fourth-year pro recorded his second-straight multi-point game. Bourbeau, a native of Bonnyville, Alberta, had two assists last Sunday in Elmira's win over Cincinnati and is eighth on the Jackals with 15 points (5g-10a).
