Jackals Game Preview: Cincinnati at Elmira

October 16, 2010 - ECHL (ECHL)
Elmira Jackals News Release

The Elmira Jackals try to start the 2010-2011 season off 2-0 as they take on the Cincinnati Cyclones for the second-straight night. In Friday night's regular-season opener, seven different Jackals scored goals en route to a dominating 7-3 victory over the Cyclones in Malcolm Cameron's first game leading Elmira.

FEEL FAMILIAR?

Although the Jackals are under new leadership this season, last night's game was similar to last season in the goals department. The Jackals scored at least seven goals on nine different occassions in 2009-2010 on their way to tallying 275 goals, an ECHL high last year. Elmira's seven goals last night were the most by a team on the league's opening night.

A BIG PLUS

John de Gray's +5 topped the ECHL last night and tied the league's best from 2009-2010, achieved by multiple players including Jackals defenseman R.J. Anderson, who did it twice last season.
