The Elmira Jackals play the Alaska Aces for the first time ever in a meeting between two division-leading teams.
PENALTY KILL HEATS UP
The Jackals' penalty kill was perfect this past weekend, going 7/7 each game and jumping from 15th in the league at 80.7% to ninth in the ECHL at 84.5%. On Sunday, Elmira killed off seven-consecutive minutes of penalty time from the first to the second period and a total of eight minutes and 38 seconds of short-handed time in the middle frame. The Jackals led the league in penalty killing last season at 86.4% while Malcolm Cameron's Florida Everblades were second in the league at 83.4%.
REGAN CONTINUES TO CONTRIBUTE
Eric Regan is now second in the league among defenseman in scoring with 12 points (4g-8a) and has a league blue-liner-leading point streak of six games (3g-4a). One of two All-ECHL 1st Team defensemen in 2009-2010, Regan is tied for the team lead in first goals with two.
