Salmon Kings Celebrate Marty the Marmot's Birthday this Weekend

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that Marty the Marmot's fifth birthday party will take place this Saturday, November 27th.
Presented by 98.5 The Ocean and 103.1 Jack FM, the best mascot in the ECHL will be celebrating his fifth birthday with 13 friends including Crunchy the Carrot, Slider the Panorama Penguin, Rocky the Shamrocks' Raccoon, Terry the Trader, and Sidney the Kidney. Marty, along with all the mascots in attendance, will take part in a first intermission game of hockey versus a mini-minor team, as well as a mascot relay during the second intermission!
Also, the first 500 kids through the gates of the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre this Saturday will receive a special goodie bag.
Fans that share their birthday with Marty or have a birthday that falls on a date this week (November 21st - 27th) will receive a free ticket to Saturday night's contest with valid picture identification in person at the Select-Your-Tickets box office.
A special cheque presentation will also take place during the second intermission of Saturday night's game to the Vancouver Island Marmot Recovery Foundation.
The Salmon Kings return home this week to open a three-game set versus the Idaho Steelheads tonight, with contests to follow on Friday, November 26th and Saturday, November 27th. Puck drop for all three games is 7:05 p.m. For tickets, call 250-220-7777 or visit www.selectyourtickets.com.
