RICHMOND, VA - Goals from Rafal Martynowski (7) and R.C. Lyke (1) was not enough as the RiverDogs go down to defeat 3-2, in regulation, against the Elmira Jackals before a New Year's Day crowd of 3,361. The RiverDogs went up 2-0 before Jason Sessa broke Mike D'Alessandro's shutout at 16:46 of the 2nd Period. The Jackals scored two in the third period and held the RiverDogs to only two shots, 20 in the game.
With the loss, the RiverDogs still hold on to 3rd place in the Eastern Division with a record of 12-18-3, 27 points, one point ahead of Roanoke Valley Vipers who were idle today. The Dogs continue the three game home stand as they play host to Two -Time Defending Colonial Cup Champion Muskegon Fury on Friday and Saturday, January 6 & 7 with both games starting at 7:35 pm.
