(OTTAWA) July 3, 2008 - Hot-hitting Jabe Bergeron is voted this week's Ottawa Rapidz Fan Favourite after another big week for Ottawa's first baseman.

The Keene, New Hampshire native tore up the opposing teams pitchers last week with 11 hits for a .355 batting average. He hit two doubles, scored three runs and produced five.

Bergeron is currently on a 22-game on-base streak dating back to June 7 against Worcester. This is the third longest this year in the Can-Am League. The all time CAN-AM League leader is Bill Peavey with 50, with New Haven in 2005.

Bergeron his having a stellar year leading the team in many offensive categories including in average (.365), runs (29), hits (50), homeruns (tied with 3), runs batted in (tied with 23), slugging percentage (.504) and on-base percentage (.437). He has also displayed excellent defensive skills committing only one error in 36 games.
