Brockton Rox News Release
Brockton, MA (July 3, 2008) - Soaring gas prices. High food costs. And now... no fireworks? With the news of local communities having to cancel their fireworks shows, the Brockton Rox are inviting local residents to enjoy the age-old tradition of fireworks on the Fourth of July. Tomorrow night the Rox are offering half price grandstand tickets to see baseball as well as the largest fireworks display in Southeastern Massachusetts.
"When we heard that towns like Randolph and Abington were canceling their fireworks, we wanted to reach out," says Rox General Manager Brian Voelkel. "We have a great fireworks show lined up with the Brockton Fair and we would like to invite local residents to spend the Fourth of July with the Rox."
Fans who stop by the Rox Ticket Office starting at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow will only have to pay half price for grandstand seats. First pitch between the Rox and the Worcester Tornadoes is set for 7:05 p.m. and the gates to the ballpark will open at 6:05 p.m. The fireworks show will begin following the end of the game.
