MEMPHIS, TN - Albuquerque scored four runs in the top of the 10th inning to claim an 11-7 win over Memphis Wednesday night at AutoZone Park.
Jamie Hoffman's two-run single gave the Isotopes the lead in the 10th and Luis Maza's pinch-hit, two-run single gave the âTopes a four-run advantage. Hoffman provided the bulk of the Albuquerque offense driving in six runs, including a go-ahead three-run homer in the eighth inning. Tony Abreu helped pace the âTopes 15-hit attack with three hits, including two doubles, and three runs scored. Jon Jay led Memphis with three RBI going 3-for-6. Brett Wallace hit his sixth home run of the year for the âBirds, a solo shot in the second inning.
Erick Threets earned the win in relief for Albuquerque striking out two and allowing one hit in 1.1 innings of work. Redbirds reliever Pete Parise took the loss allowing four runs, three earned, on three hits over two innings. Memphis starter Evan MacLane allowed three runs on eight hits across five innings.
The âBirds send Mitchell Boggs to the hill tomorrow night to face Albuquerque's Giancarlo Alvarado. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m.
