New Orleans Baby Cakes News Release
John Lindsey crushed two home runs, and Jai Miller added another as the Zephyrs powered their way past the Omaha Royals 8-4 Wednesday night at Zephyr Field.
Lindsey and Miller hit back-to-back home runs in the second inning to give the Z's an early lead. On the night Lindsey was 4-for-4 with four RBI and three runs scored, and Miller added a double on top of his homer to lead the way for the Z's.
Rick VandenHurk ran into trouble in the second inning, giving up solo home runs to Kila Ka'aihue and John Suomi. He was able to recover, not allowing another run over his seven innings of work to get his fourth win of the year.
The Zephyrs scored one run in the first, four in the second and two more in the third off Omaha starter Stephen Randolph, who was making his Royals debut, to take command of the game.
The series will continue Thursday night as Hayden Penn (RHP) takes on Heath Phillips (LHP) at 7 pm.
