Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

After three full innings of play and a torrential rainfall during the series finale between the Albuquerque Isotopes and Salt Lake Bees, the umpires determined the field was unplayable and called the game. The Isotopes Park Rain Check Policy is in effect, but the game will not be resumed.

Albuquerque led Salt Lake 5-2 through three-plus innings before an unyielding rainstorm hit Isotopes Park. Despite efforts to resume play, the field was determined unplayable by the umpiring crew. The game, which was the final scheduled meeting between the two teams, will not be made up.

The official time of the rain delay was 2:35 before the game was cancelled.

The Isotopes Park Rain Check Policy will be in effect for Saturday's game. Any ticket from the game may be exchanged at the Isotopes Park Box Office for any remaining 2007 regular season game.

The ‘Topes kick-off a four-game set with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, on Sunday night at The Lab. Wes Obermueller (0-1, 2.96) takes the hill for the ‘Topes. The Sky Sox give the ball to Bobby Keppel (7-7, 6.01). First pitch is set for 6:05 PM.

The first 3,000 fans Sunday receive an Isotopes Three-Ring Binder, part of the club's Back to School Weekend, courtesy of Staples. Also, the game will feature an Albuquerque Journal Autograph Session, featuring reliever Roy Corcoran and Orbit signing autographs on the concourse at 5 PM.

Still to come on this homestand is Monday's return of 50-cent Hot Dog Night! Tickets can be purchased at Isotopes Park or any Ticketmaster outlet, www.ticketmaster.com, or Ticketmaster by phone 505-883-7800. For more information, visit www.albuquerquebaseball.com or call 505-924-2255.
