ROUND ROCK - Not since returning from the All-Star break against Oklahoma have the Express taken a series from a Pacific Coast League opponent, but that changed Saturday when three Express hurlers combined to allow just four hits as the club downed Colorado Springs, 7-0.

Round Rock used a five run third inning to put the Sky Sox in an early hole, tagging starter Kevin Walker with six hits and drawing two walks. Barry Wesson started the onslaught with a double off the right field wall, but was thrown out at third on a fielder's choice one batter later.

After Josh Anderson singled, Tim Raines, Jr. was hit by a pitch to load the bases for Brooks Conrad. The switch hitter knocked a double into center field for two of his team-high three RBI on the night, and scored three batters later on a Mark Saccomanno single that also brought in Danny Klassen.

Meanwhile, Philip Barzilla was just getting to work on the mound as the lefty tossed five shutout innings in relief of starter Chad Reineke. Barzilla moved to 8-6 on the season for his efforts, allowing just three hits and issuing only one walk.

The Express pounded out 13 hits in the series finale as five of the top six hitters in the lineup combined to go 11-for-23.

Travis Driskill came on in the ninth to toss a perfect frame and seal the victory.

Round Rock begins a four game set with Salt Lake City beginning tomorrow, with first pitch scheduled for 6:05 p.m. Catch right-hander Chan Ho Park take the mound locally on 1530/1260 AM or worldwide at www.roundrockexpress.com.
