BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Feb. 20, 2014) - The New York Islanders announced today that defenseman Andrey Pedan has been reassigned from the Stockton Thunder (ECHL) to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (AHL). Additionally, the Sound Tigers have loaned forward Riley Wetmore to the Thunder.

Pedan, 20, was drafted by the Islanders in the third round (63rd overall) in 2011. He played three seasons of junior hockey with the Guelph Storm in the Ontario Hockey League. He began this season with the Sound Tigers and scored five points (two goals, three assists) in nine games. After missing nearly three months with an upper-body injury, Pedan was reassigned to Stockton on Feb. 6, where he played five games.

Wetmore, 24, signed an amateur tryout contract (ATO) with the Sound Tigers at the end of his collegiate career at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell late last season. He played three AHL games in 2012-13 and scored his first career goal. After signing an AHL deal in the offseason, the Swanton, Vt., native has skated in 36 games for the Sound Tigers and tallied 11 points (three goals, eight assists).
