Coyotes Recall Summers from Portland

GLENDALE, ARIZONA - Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have recalled defenseman Chris Summers from the Portland Pirates, the club's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate.

The 6-foot-2, 209-pound Summers has registered 2-7-9 with 47 penalty minutes (PIM) in 48 games with the Pirates this season. He is one of three players to play in all 48 games for Portland. The 26-year-old native of Ann Arbor, Mich. has recorded 0-3-3 with 24 PIM in 29 career NHL games.

Summers was originally drafted by the Coyotes in the first round (29th overall) in the 2006 Entry Draft.
