IronPigs Try to Sweep G-Braves
June 16, 2016 - International League (IL1)
Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will go for the sweep of the Gwinnett Braves on Thursday night. First pitch from Coca-Cola Park is slated for 7:05 p.m.
RHP Jake Thompson (5-5, 3.42) will toe the rubber for the IronPigs in the series finale on Thursday. Thompson got the win on Friday vs. Durham when he gave up six hits while walking one and fanning five over seven shutout innings. The Dallas native has not allowed an earned run over his last 13.0 IP.
RHP Lucas Harrell (2-1, 4.79) gets the ball for Gwinnett opposite Thompson. Harrell got a no-decision on Saturday vs. Norfolk after allowing three runs on six hits to go along with five walks and a strikeout in four innings of work. On June 6 against the Pigs, Harrell was tagged with the loss when he surrendered two runs (one earned) on four hits while walking three and fanning four in 5.0 IP.
Pigs SS J.P. Crawford has now hit safely in his last four games after putting together a 3-3 outing with a pair of doubles on Wednesday. In that time, Crawford is hitting .429-0-4 (6-14, 2 2B, 2 SB, 3 BB, 4 R).
The first 3,000 fans 18 and older will receive an IronPigs Beach Bag courtesy of Air Products. There is also an extended Happy Hour from 5 to 7 p.m. with $1 hot dogs and $2 domestic drafts. Fans can bring their child's report card (K-12) to the Coca-Cola Park ticket window and receive one Field Level ticket -- as well as a voucher for a regular fountain soda, hot dog and box of popcorn -- for just $10 for any or all of the games from June 14-16.
