Knapp's Walk-Off Single Lifts Pigs in 11th, 2-1

Andrew Knapp's walk-off single with two outs in the bottom of the 11th lifted the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (37-29) to a 2-1 win and a three-game sweep of the Gwinnett Braves (30-37) on Thursday night at Coca-Cola Park.

In the bottom of the 11th, Emmanuel Burriss led off with a single, advanced to second on a sac bunt, went to third when J.P. Crawford was hit by a pitch and scored on Knapp's walk-off single.

RHP Ryan Weber (1.2 IP, 3 H, R, ER, BB, K) was tagged with the loss for the Braves and falls to 0-3 on the year.

RHP Frank Herrmann (2.0 IP, H) tossed a pair of scoreless innings in relief for the Pigs and improve to 3-1 on the year.

Gwinnett took a 1-0 lead with a run in the third as Ozzie Albies led off with a triple and scored on Emilio Bonifacio's RBI groundout.

The Pigs tied it at one with a run in the fourth as Cedric Hunter (2-5, R, SB) led off with a single, advanced to second on a single from Burriss (2-5, R) took third on a walk and scored on Pigs starter Jake Thompson's RBI groundout.

Thompson (n/d) allowed one run on five hits to go along with two walks and four strikeouts in 8.0 IP.

Braves starter Lucas Harrell (n/d) gave up the one run on five hits while walking three and fanning eight in five innings of work.

With things tied at one, the Pigs had a runner at second with one out in the seventh, but LHP Matt Marksberry (2.0 IP, BB, 3 K) got Knapp (2-5, RBI) to ground to short and fanned Brock Stassi to end the inning.

In the top of the ninth, the G-Braves had runners at second and third with one away, but RHP Edward Mujica (1.0 IP, H) got Blake Lalli to tap one back to the mound on which Mujica cut down the potential go-ahead run at home plate and got Matt Lipka to fly to center and escape the jam.

The IronPigs will open a four-game set with the Buffalo Bisons on Friday night at Coca-Cola Park. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. as RHP Ben Lively (3-0, 2.08) takes the hill for Lehigh Valley against Buffalo RHP Chris Leroux (4-4, 3.36).
