Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

(Rochester, N.Y.) - Saturday's game between the Lehigh Valley IronPigs and the Rochester Red Wings at Frontier Field was cancelled due to rain - the IronPigs first postponement in 2012. The contest will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Sunday, April 22 at 1:05 p.m. Each of the two doubleheader games are scheduled for seven innings.

The revised pitching matchups appear below:

Game One:

RHP Austin Hyatt (2-0, 2.20) vs. LHP Scott Diamond (3-0, 1.47)

Game Two:

LHP Raul Valdes (0-1, 5.87) vs. RHP Daryl Thompson (1-2, 3.21)

This will be Lehigh Valley's second doubleheader of the season. The IronPigs split a scheduled doubleheader on April 7 in Pawtucket. Last season, the Pigs managed just a 5-9 record in doubleheader games -- getting swept in two, including their last (Aug. 29 vs. SYR). The Pigs have gone just 14-26 all-time in doubleheader games with just two sweeps in 20 tries (6/11/08 vs. BUF and 7/18/09 vs. ROC).

The IronPigs (11-5) lost the series opener to the Red Wings (8-8) on Friday, 5-2, and are just 2-3 so far on this seven-game, North Division road trip. Lehigh Valley entered the day tied with Pawtucket (11-5) for first place in the North Division. The Pigs return home Monday to start their longest homestand of the season - playing 14 games at Coca-Cola Park in a span of 15 games, beginning with a three-game series with the Buffalo Bisons.
