IronPigs Open Series at Syracuse

Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will open a three-game set with the Syracuse Chiefs on Saturday night. First pitch from NBT Bank Stadium is set for 7:05 p.m. The Pigs enter play at 60-74 after dropping two of three at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Syracuse is also at 60-74 on the year and dropped two of three at Rochester earlier this week.
RHP David Buchanan (4-1, 3.24) heads to the mound for the Pigs in the series opener. Last time out, the right-hander earned the win on Monday vs. Buffalo when he gave up a run on four hits while walking five and fanning one in five innings of work. In eight starts with Lehigh Valley, lefties are hitting just .190 (12-63) against Buchanan.
LHP Richard Bleier (5-2, 3.15) will be on the bump for Syracuse on Saturday. Bleier was tagged with the loss on Monday vs. Rochester after giving up six runs on 12 hits to go along with a walk and three strikeouts in 4.2 IP. The southpaw will be making his third start of the season against the IronPigs. Back on August 13 at NBT Bank Stadium, Bleier earned the win against the Pigs when he gave up one run on six hits in 7.0 IP.
