Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
(Allentown, Pa.) - Sunday's game between the Lehigh Valley IronPigs and Toledo Mud Hens at Coca-Cola Park was suspended with the score tied at one in the top of the third inning due to wet field conditions. The seven-inning game will be completed as part of a doubleheader on Monday, August 15 at 6:05 p.m. Following the completion of the suspended game on Monday, the two teams will play another seven-inning contest. Only one ticket is needed to attend both games.
Sunday's suspension occurred after the IronPigs and Mud Hens completed a halted game from Saturday, with Lehigh Valley prevailing after play resumed, 2-1.
The IronPigs celebrate "What Could Have Been Night" on Monday at 6:05 p.m. with Lehigh Valley Gobblers night featuring a Gobblers Cap giveaway presented by Penn State Lehigh Valley for the first 3,000 adults 18 and older. When the IronPigs nickname was selected in a fan vote prior to the 2008 season, seven other finalists were considered, including the Lehigh Valley Gobblers!
During "What Could Have Been Night", IronPigs players and coaches will wear Gobbler jerseys and caps courtesy of Jaindl featuring an exclusive Gobblers logo. Game-worn items will be auctioned off at the conclusion of Monday's game with the proceeds benefitting IronPigs Charities.
Gobbler nation won't want to miss many other fun activities that are planned for "What Could Have Been" night, including:

* The introduction of "Gobbler the Mascot" (Eat your heart out FeRROUS and FeFe).
* Numerous in-between inning contests featuring a turkey-related theme such as the "Frozen Turkey Toss" and "Frozen Turkey Bowling".
* Other videoboard promotions such as Gobbler-themed headshots for IronPigs players and the introduction of the "Turkey Dance Cam".
The Gobblers handle finished second to the IronPigs in a 2007 "Name the Team" contest that received over 3,500 different team name entries from the public. Other finalists considered included the Woodchucks, Phillies, Keystones, Crushers, Phanatics and Vulcans. In the years ahead, the other monikers that made the final cut will also receive their very own, "What Could Have Been" night at Coca-Cola Park.
Also on Monday, there will also be a Morning Call pre-game autograph session with select Gobbler players from 6 to 6:20 p.m. on the main concourse. Be sure to pick up a copy of Sunday's Morning Call to receive the "Gobblers" photo insert.
