Pawtucket Red Sox News Release

There was no late inning magic for the PawSox on Saturday night. They looked a little sluggish, falling to Gwinnett 4-2. The PawSox scored their first run in the top of the second inning as Lars Anderson came home on a double play ball hit by Luis Exposito. Anderson, Daniel Nava, Tony Thomas, Hector Luna, Jose Iglesias and Exposito all had singles, accounting for the six PawSox hits. Exposito drove in the final Pawtucket run with a ninth inning single. Todd Redmond (9-8), the Braves starter and winner worked 7 innings, striking out 6.

Kyler Weiland (8-8) was the loser, surrendering 4 runs on 7 hits in 5 and a third innings. Weiland walked three and fanned four. Prospect Junichi Tazawa was solid in his second appearance for the Pawtucket Red Sox. Tazawa went two and a third scoreless innings, scattering 4 hits and striking out three.
