Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The fifth-place IronPigs (45-67) play Game Two of a four-game series against the South's third-place Gwinnett Braves (53-58) -- Atlanta's top affiliate. With a 6-1 loss last night, the Pigs have started 0-1 on this eight-game homestand. Lehigh Valley has now lost nine of its last 10 affairs after winning six of seven, July 19-25... Gwinnett has won seven of its last nine contests. But after getting within one game of .500 on July 3 (41-42), the Braves went 5-14 until this recent surge.
IL All-Star RHP Nate Bump (8-4, 3.33) will start for LHV against RHP Todd Redmond (8-10, 4.51).
First-pitch is at 7:05 p.m. for Friday Night Fireworks, presented by Wachovia Bank, a Wells Fargo Company.
Fortune 500?: The Phillies' Triple-A affiliate has not been above .500 in exactly 500 games; 400 as Lehigh Valley.
