Yastrzemski' Big Day Leads Aberdeen to Win
Mike Yastremski had a big day at the plate, going 3-4 with an RBI triple in the sixth and an RBI double in the eighth, helping Aberdeen to a 3-1 victory over the Tri-City ValleyCats yesterday. Jared Breen extended his hitting streak to a team-best ten games with his single in the sixth inning. Jorge Rivera got the win in relief for the IronBirds, who improved to 11-9 on the season, winners in seven of their last ten games. David Richardson pitched the final inning and two thirds, earning his second save of the season.
McNamara Sweeps Stedler
In the first day of games that took place outside of the McNamara Division, the entire division won. Staten Island beat Connecticut, Hudson Valley knocked off Vermont, and Brooklyn won their second game in a row, defeating Lowell. Hudson Valley remains 1.5 games ahead of the IronBirds, who sit in second place after 20 completed games.
