
Intimidators Top Claws 7-1 on Tuesday for Series Split

LAKEWOOD, NJ - Kade McLure gave up one run over five innings and Johandro Alfaro homered as Kannapolis topped the BlueClaws 7-1 on Tuesday night at FirstEnergy Park.
The teams split a four-game series after the BlueClaws (17-34) won the first two and the Intimidators (22-29) won the last two.
Kannapolis scored twice in the first inning to take the lead on a two-run double by Johan Cruz. Lakewood starter James McArthur came out after five batters, allowing two hits and a walk.
Rafi Gonell came on for the last out of the first and gave up two run in the second on a SAC fly from Lenyn Sosa and an RBI single from Romy Gonzalez.
The BlueClaws got their first run in th ethird when Hunter Stovall scored on a groundout from Jonathan Guzman.
Intimidators starter Kade McLure came out after five innings, allowing one run on three hits with three strikeouts.
Lenyn Sosa added a home run, his second of the year, in a two-run fifth off Kevin Gowdy. The right-hander gave up two runs, one earned, in 3.1 innings of relief.
Abdallah Aris, who joined the BlueClaws earlier in the day, gave up one run in 1.2 innings of work.
Jonathan Guzman went 1-4 to extend his hitting streak to 11 games while Hunter Stovall had two hits for Lakewood.
The BlueClaws head to Greensboro on Thursday to open a series with the Grasshoppers. LHP Manuel Silva will start the series opener.
