
Intimidators Take Series Against Hagerstown With 10-3 Win In Finale

Kannapolis, NC - The Intimidators (20-22) knocked off the Hagerstown Suns (20-25) in the series finale 10-3 at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium. The Intimidators take the four-game series three games to one.
The Intimidators busted the contest open in the fifth inning with a five run frame. Leading 1-0, Kannapolis started with a John Curtis single. Sergio Miranda followed with a double to place runners at second and third. Two batters later Brent Morel tripled to plate Curtis and Miranda. Jim Gallagher followed with a double to bring in Morel. Two batters after that Christian Marrero put the exclamation point on the inning with a two-run homer to make it 6-0 the Intimidators in front.
Kannapolis scored its first run in the fourth. With runners at first and second Sergio Morales hit a groundball to second baseman Valerio Heredia but Heredia tossed it away allowing the runner from second (Mark Fleisher) to score.
The I's tacked on four insurance runs in the eighth to make it 10-3.
On the mound, starter Jason Rice (7-7) earned the win with 5.1 strong innings. Rice gave up three runs on a Tim Pahuta sixth inning home run and that was all.
