
Intimidators Release List of Participants for Celebrity Softball Game to Benefit AARP

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (May 19, 2011) - The Kannapolis Intimidators, Class-A Affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, are excited to announce the participants for Sunday's Celebrity Softball Game to benefit AARP and the AARP Foundation. The Intimidators are giving $2.00 of every game- day walk-up ticket to the AARP "Drive To End Hunger" campaign. The game is Sunday, May 22 at 3 p.m. at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium with the Intimidators game against the Delmarva Shorebirds to follow at 5:05 p.m.
Select NASCAR personalities - including crew members for the #24 Jeff Gordon and #5 Mark Martin cars as well as members of Richard Childress Racing - make up the first team. The team includes Joey Coulter, who drives the #22 Chevrolet Silverado for Richard Childress Racing in the Camping World Truck Series, and veteran crew chief Harold Holly.
The second team will comprise members of CBS Radio, including on-air personalities from WFNZ 610 AM The Drive and WNKS 95.1 Kiss FM, and the Lake Norman Fear.
The Intimidators are giving out "Drive To End Hunger" key chains and license plates featuring Jeff Gordon, along with NASCAR trading cards to the first 1,000 fans courtesy of Press Pass. Celebrity participants will be available for autographs and pictures after the softball game.
Tickets on Sunday, May 22, will allow fans admission to both the Celebrity Softball Game and the Kannapolis Intimidators game that evening. Sunday games are also Kids Day at the ballpark presented by Zammitti Orthodontics with Intimidators players available for autographs leading up to the game at 5:05 p.m., and kids can run the bases after the game.
The Intimidators return from a seven-game road trip to Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium on Friday, May 20, for a four-game series against Delmarva. The ballpark is located just off I-85 at exit 63.
