Intimidators kick off roadtrip in fashion

Lexington, KY - The Intimidators started a six-game roadtrip with a 12-7 win over Lexington at Applebee?s Park. Kannapolis scored five runs in the second inning and continued to trickle runs across for the five run win.

The Intimidators started the second frame with a one-out solo home run from Logan Johnson. Two batters later Christian Marrero single, John Curtis walked and Sergio Miranda drew a base on balls to load the bases. Dale Mollenhauer stepped in and doubled to right-centerfield to bring in all three runs. Mollenhauer scored when Sergio Morales single to right field for the fifth run of the inning.

Mollenhauer would add a single, a stolen base, a RBI single and a RBI double to finish 4-for-5 with two runs scored, five RBI and a stolen base to pace the Intimidators.

Mark Fleisher extended his hitting streak to ten games with a two-run double in the sixth inning. He added another double for four two-baggers in the last two games.

On the mound, Levi Maxwell earned his seventh win of the season going 5.2 innings giving up eight hits and six runs. Leroy Hunt earned his fourth save throwing 1.1 perfect innings and striking out three of the four batters he faced.

The Intimidators continue the roadtrip tomorrow afternoon at 12:05 in Lexington against the Legends to end the two-game series. Kannapolis heads to Greensboro following tomorrow afternoon?s game to finish with four versus the Grasshoppers.

The Intimidators are back at home Monday night against Lexington, but Thursday night Team USA takes on Chinese Taipei in an international exhibition from Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium.
