
\'Jackets Rally for Win over Greenville

Augusta, GA - The Augusta GreenJackets (41-28, 4-2) rallied for a win over the Greenville Drive (40-30, 3-3) on Tuesday nigh with an 8-2 victory. Ryan Paul recorded the win in relief while Thomas Neal and Jackson Williams each collected a pair of RBIs in the game.
Trailing 2-1 entering the fourth inning Charlie Culberson came through with a two-out RBI single scoring Andrew Davis to tie the game at 2-2.
Augusta took a 4-2 lead in the fifth inning when two runs scored on a ball that Garrett Baker hit was misplayed by right-fielder Ryan Kalish.
The GreenJackets put the game out of reach scoring four more times in the eighth inning, all with two outs. Nick Noonan had an RBI single, Neal had a two-run single and Williams capped off the scoring with an RBI base hit.
Paul (1-1) worked two shutout innings and did not allow a hit while walking two and striking out five.
Greenville jumped out to a 2-0 lead early getting two out RBI singles in the first and second innings from Jared Stanley and Kristopher Negron.
Augusta cut the lead in half in the bottom of the second on a one-out solo home run from Angel Villalona, his team leading ninth of the season.
Augusta starter Chance Corgan worked a career high 4.2 innings allowing two runs on six hits for the no-decision. Corgan also walked one and struck out a career high five batters.
Daniel Turpen picked up his fifth save of the season working 2.1 shutout innings and allowing two hits. Turpen also walked one and struck out two.
The GreenJackets and Drive continue their series with a morning game on Wednesday. Augusta sends right-hander Oliver Odle (5-4, 4.13) to the mound. The Drive counter with right-hander Terumasa Matsuo (3-1, 5.05). First pitch is at 10:35 a.m.
