
Intimidators grab 5-2 win

Kannapolis, NC ? The Intimidators plated four runs in the first inning and cruised to their first win in the second half of the season (1-1) in a 5-2 victory over West Virginia at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium.
The Intimidators received three of those four first inning runs on Jim Gallagher's sixth home run of the season to score Dale Mollenhauer and Sergio Morales. Mark Fleisher followed Gallagher?s blast with a double and scored on a two-bagger from Anderson Gomes to make it 4-0.
Kannapolis received its final run in the sixth frame from Gomes bringing in Logan Johnson with a two-out RBI single.
West Virginia scored a single run in the second and fourth innings off of starter Miguel Socolovich. The righty from Venezuela went six innings giving up five hits and two runs for his first win of the season (1-3). Tyson Corley tossed a scoreless seventh frame before Henry Mabee nailed down his 17th save with two scoreless innings.
Kannapolis continues the five-game series at home against West Virginia tomorrow night on Jersey Off Out Back Night. The Intimidators will wear alternate uniforms that will be silently auctioned off during the game to benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation. First pitch at 7:05pm and the gates open at 6:00pm.
