New York Red Bulls II News Release
New York Red Bulls II travels to face Detroit City FC on Saturday, April 30, at Keyworth Stadium.
For the seventh time this season, AJ Marcucci will get the start in net. He has started 15 of New York's last 16 matches dating back to September 19, 2021. He will also wear the captain's armband today.
Lucas Monzón will make his season debut for Red Bulls II, with Juan Castillo and Lamine Conte filling out the rest of the backline. Monzón appeared in one match for New York last season, playing 45 minutes against the Tampa Bay Rowdies on September 11, 2021.
For the second-consecutive match, Jason Pendant and O'Vonte Mullings will likely serve as wingbacks.
John Murphy and Sam Williams both make their returns to the starting lineup this week, as they will make up the defensive midfield.
Steven Sserwadda will round out the midfield, serving as an attacking option.
Jeremy Rafanello and Jonathan Filipe will serve as the two forwards for the second-straight match.
New York's bench consists of Derrek Chan, Daniel De Leon, Wikelman Carmona, Jesús Castellano, Cameron Harper, and Illia Tyrkus.
Carmona and Harper are both available to appear in a match for the first time this season. The pair combined for 12 appearances with Red Bulls II in 2021.
Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m. ET, with coverage on ESPN+.
