New York Red Bulls II News Release
HARRISON, N.J. - New York Red Bulls II (1-5-1, 4 points) will travel to face Detroit City FC (4-1-2, 14 points) on Saturday, April 30, at Keyworth Stadium. Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m. ET, with coverage available on ESPN+.
The match will mark the first of two meetings between the clubs this season, with the return match taking place on September 21 at MSU Soccer Park. New York holds an all-time record of 11-15-7 when facing a club for the first time.
Red Bulls II will look to build off its 1-1 draw against the Tampa Bay Rowdies on Saturday, April 21. Jeremy Rafanello scored his second goal of the season in the match, and AJ Marcucci tallied six saves. The match marked the second-consecutive time in which New York held the Rowdies to one goal.
Detroit enters Saturday's match third in the Eastern Conference, riding a streak of six-straight matches with a result. The only match that the club lost this season was their USL Championship debut, a 1-0 defeat to San Antonio FC. Detroit has allowed just four goals through seven matches, and just two at home. The mark of four is tied for the fewest in the league, and the club's three clean sheets are tied for fourth in USL Championship.
Saturday's match begins a stretch for New York in which it will play three of its next four matches away from home. That stretch will be the longest for Red Bulls II until August 20, when it will play four of six on the road between then and September 17.
Following the match, New York will return home to host Sacramento Republic FC on Sunday, May 8. Kickoff from MSU Soccer Park is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET, with coverage available on ESPN+.
