Frederick Keys News Release
Frederick, MD -- The Kinston Indians defeated the Keys for the sixth consecutive time this season, handing Radhames Liz just his second loss of the season.
The Indians continued to feast on Keys pitching, as Micah Schilling hit a three-run home run off Radhames Liz in the top of the second inning to take an early 3-0 lead. They would add two more runs in the top of the third inning on Brian Barton's sacrfice fly and a passed ball by Morgan Clendenin.
Clendenin's would get the Keys on the board in the bottom of the sixth inning on a sacrifice fly to plate Pete Maestrales.
But the Indians went back to work in the top of the seventh, as Brandon Pinckney singled to drive in Wyatt Toregas before Schilling doubled to score Jordan Brown. Argenis Reyes later score Pinckney on a sacrifice fly to center field. Toregas hit a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to give the Indians a comfortable 9-1 lead.
Bryan Bass would drive in another run via the sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth inning. Nolan Reimold would hit a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning, but it was too little too late for the Keys, who fell 9-3. Radhames Liz (5-2) took the loss, his second of the season to Kinston, in his shortest start of the season, lasting 3.0 innings, allowing five runs, four earned on two hits, while walking four. Trevery Caughey tossed 3.0 innings of scoreless relief before Jeff Montani allowed four runs on seven hits in 2.0 innings.
