Spokane, Washington - The Boise Hawks fought back from a two-run deficit but could not complete the comeback as they fell to the Spokane Indians on Tuesday night by a score of 3-2.
Dylan Thompson took the bump for the Hawks and gave up two early runs before settling down to pitch six solid innings, giving up two earned runs on five hits with six strikeouts.
The Hawks grabbed one run in the fifth inning on a wild pitch by Indians starting pitcher, Emerson Martinez before tying the game in the eighth inning.
Carlos Herrera led off the inning with a triple down the right field line. Kevin Padlo followed with a five-pitch walk before Brian Mundell lifted an RBI sacrifice fly that locked the game at 2-2.
The Indians responded in the bottom half of the inning, adding one run on a Deigo Cedeno RBI fielder's choice to retake the lead for good.
Luis Parra picked up his fourth win of the season, pitching one and one third of an inning and giving up no runs and no hits with one strikeout.
With the loss, the Hawks fall to 7-13 on the season and finish off a five-game road trip against the Indians tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m.
Notes: The Hawks continue to lead the league in stolen bases despite not swiping a bag on the night...Hamlet Marte maintains his league lead in doubles (11) after going 1-4 with a single.... Brian Mundell picked up his sixth RBI of the season.
