Everett AquaSox News Release

EVERETT, Wash. - Corey Simpson hit his fourth home run of the year and drove in three runs to help the AquaSox snap a four-game losing streak with a 7-4 win over Hillsboro on Tuesday, July 7, at Everett Memorial Stadium. Simpson now sits at second in the Northwest League in home runs (4) and RBIs (18).

Three of the Frogs' (12-8) runs came in the bottom of the eighth inning, after the Hops (11-9) tied the game in the top of the inning. Jordan Cowan scored on a wild pitch, Rafael Fernandez came home on a groundout, and Alex Jackson singled to score Logan Taylor in the inning. That gave the AquaSox the 7-4 lead for good.

Simpson scored on Ryan Uhl's single in the bottom of the seventh, and Jackson came home on a double play to put them up 4-2 before Hillsboro scored a pair in the top of the eighth. Jackson finished the game 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run. P.J. Jones was the only other AquaSox player with a multi-hit game, going 2 for 3.

The other two runs came on Simpson's two-run home run in the fourth. Anthony Misiewicz started the game on the hill and went three innings with one earned run and a strikeout. Andrew Moore took over for him and went another three innings with one earned run and five strikeouts.

Join us tomorrow, Wednesday, July 8, for an early 11:05 a.m. game against Hillsboro. The AquaSox will look to take their second win of the series in the series finale, and it will be Kid's Day. Tickets are available online at aquasox.com/tickets, and in the front office at 3802 Broadway in Everett.
