Columbus Clippers News Release
For the third straight night, the Clippers (61-51) and Indians (57-55) finished in a one run meeting, only this time the game finished in the eleventh inning with the score 5-4 in favor of the Tribe as Jason Rogers' RBI single to center scoring Alen Hanson from second base proved to be the winning run in the top of the eleventh.
After Yandy Diaz ripped a one-out double to right field, extending his hitting streak to 22 games, Giovanny Urshela came to the plate and extended his own hitting streak to 17 by belting a home run to the bleachers in left field to make it 2-0 Clippers after an inning of action.
Indians right fielder Jose Osuna got one of those runs back the next inning with a solo bomb, his fifth of the season, over the wall in center field to make it 2-1.
In the top of the third, Osuna went yard again, this time doing more damage with a three run shot to left with two outs, creating a two run lead for the Tribe.
After Indianapolis starter Drew Hutchison walked the bases loaded with one out in the bottom of the fifth, a Diaz RBI single plus an Urshela RBI sacrifice fly tied the game at four.
Hutchison worked seven innings, giving up four earned runs on four hits as he walked four and punched out five.
