Bats Quiet as Pigs Fall to RailRiders, 7-0

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (68-43) had their four-game winning streak snapped in a 7-0 loss to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (68-43) on Wednesday night at Coca-Cola Park.

The IronPigs managed just two hits in the game.

RailRiders starter Dietrich Enns (5-2) surrendered the one hit to go along with three walks and four strikeouts in 5.0 IP.

A three-run second opened up a 3-0 lead for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre as Kyle Higashioka delivered a two-run shot off of Pigs starter Gregory Infante and Donovan Solano knocked home a run via an RBI groundout.

The RailRiders extended the lead to 4-0 with a run in the third as Clint Frazier reached with a one-out single, advanced to third on a single and scored on Ike Davis' sac fly.

Infante (2-1) gave up four runs on four hits while walking two and fanning four in 2.2 IP.

Scranton opened up a 7-0 lead with a three-run fifth as Tyler Austin, Jake Cave and Pete Kozma all delivered RBI singles in the frame. All three runs were charged to LHP Joely Rodriguez (2.1 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 3 ER, BB, 3 K).

RHP Colton Murray (2.0 IP, BB, 2 K), LHP Elvis Araujo (1.0 IP) and RHP Dalier Hinojosa (1.0 IP, H, 2 BB, K) all had a scoreless outing in relief for manager Dave Brundage's squad.

The series wraps up on Thursday at 7:05 p.m. as RHP David Buchanan (8-5, 3.82) will be on the bump for the Pigs against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RHP Kyle Haynes (4-4, 4.73). This story was not subject to the approval of the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues or its clubs.
