Spokane Indians News Release
SPOKANE, Wash. - Vancouver starter Tayler Saucedo pitched six three-hit innings while striking out seven, left fielder Connor Panas hit two home runs to collect four RBI, and the Spokane Indians fell 11-3 to the Canadians on Saturday night in front of 6,719 fans at Avista Stadium. It was Wildfire Relief Community Night presented by Toyota, KAYU FOX 28, Spokane's Greatest Hits Key 101 and 1050 The KEY.
It was an unceremonious first inning for the Indians full of errors, base hits, walks, wild pitches and passed balls. Starter Nick Green gave up six runs on four hits and two walks, recording just one out. Blake Bass came on in relief, giving up two more hits and another score. Three Spokane errors - courtesy of LeDarious Clark, Yeyson Yrizarri and Ti'Quan Forbes - paved way for each Canadian to reach base in the inning.
Bass stayed on the bump for 3.2 innings, scattering five hits and three runs, striking out three. Omarlin Lopez pitched three innings, allowed two runs and struck out four Vancouver batters. Seth Lintz tossed two innings of one-hit baseball in the final two frames for Spokane.
Yrizarri had a two-run single in the eighth to put the Indians on the board, extending his hitting streak to 12 games. Forbes finished 3-for-4 with three singles and an RBI. Darius Day, Connor McKay, Leon Byrd Jr., and Clark each recorded a base hit.
Spokane takes to the road for a five-game set with the South Division's Eugene Emeralds, the affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. You can listen to all of the Indians action on SportsRadio 1510 KGA with the Voice of the Indians, Mike Boyle!
