
Canadians Open Crucial Five-Game Series With 7-2 Victory Over Boise Hawks

(Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium - Vancouver, BC) - LF Connor Panas went 3-for-3, with three RBI and his third home run in two days, to help lift the Canadians to a convincing 7-2 victory over the Boise Hawks on Sunday afternoon at Scotiabank Field.
2B Ryan Metzler extended his hitting streak to 14 games, with a single to left field that scored Panas, opening scoring for the game.
The Hawks quickly matched the Canadians in the following frame with a run from Nate Causey tying the game at 1-1.
The Canadians pulled ahead with a three-run 5th inning that saw Panas, Metzler and 1B Justin Atkinson cross the plate. They repeated the feat in the next inning when Panas sent a three-RBI homerun soaring into the Hey Y'all porch, scoring SS Gunnar Heidt and DH Juan Kelly for the final runs of the game.
Canadians starter Francisco Rios allowed just one run on four hits, while striking out three batters in 4.0 innings of work before being replaced by LHP Brandon Hinkle.
Hinkle gave up just a single run, a homerun by CF Terry McClure, in 4.0 innings pitched and picked up his fifth win of the season.
Hawks starter Jonathan Wynkoop was replaced after 5.0 innings, giving up four runs on eight hits.
The Canadians will face the Boise Hawks in the second of five games on Monday. LHP Angel Perdomo will make his first start of the season for the Canadians, first pitch at 7:05 PM.
